There are many different types of safety glasses and safety equipment available for a variety of purposes. Some are designed to withstand the heat and other hazards common to construction sites, such as cutting tools, chemicals, and heavy equipment. Most safety glasses will also provide some degree of UV protection. With the choices of material, lens, frame, and style, it’s important to be able to choose the right ones for the job.

If you work in construction, then you should have a seriously good pair of safety goggles to use while operating power tools (especially power saws). However, throughout most of the day, you can get away with a good pair of safety sunglasses that are tough enough to protect your eyes from physical objects, as well as the sun.
Here are the best sunglasses designed for those who work hard and need a tough pair of shades!
Oakley Men’s Ballistic M Frame 2.0 Shield Sunglasses
Most guys either love or hate Oakley sunglasses, but these impact resistant safety glasses are not your typical pair of sunglasses. They are perfect for outdoor use and designed to protect your eyes from debris and other construction-related hazards. The Oakley Ballistic M Frame 2.0 Shield safety glasses look great, but they’re not too flashy as they are made to wear while working outside. Basically, they are not your typical pretty-boy expensive shades!
3M Virtua Safety Glasses
3M Virtua Safety Glasses offer excellent protection from the sun, as well as durability to perform well in extreme working conditions. They’re comfortable so you don’t even realize they’re on. Great to use while framing a home or doing anything other than cutting metal/wood, as real safety goggles should be used when operating power saws.
You can get a 20-pack of these protective glasses for less than $15 – they’re comfortable and they get the job done!
Crossfire Safety Glasses
These are sunglasses designed to double as working safety glasses, and they do the job well. They look good, block UV rays, and protect your eyes from debris. There are 3 color options, and they are truly a great all-day pair of sunglasses for any occasion.
The best safety glasses are the ones that protect your eyes and allow you to see clearly and perform at your best. The right pair of sunglasses can double as safety glasses, so always wear both when working outside. The most important thing is to protect your eyes and eyesight, which can be done with the right pair of safety glasses. Just remember to wear them all the time, even when you’re not working.

DeWalt also makes a nice pair of protective sunglasses, you can pick them up at Lowes or Home Depot last I checked. But, they are too dark IMO. Which makes them not as safe as other options for basic work needs.
I do a lot of work cleaning up yard waste and hauling junk, so I am outside all day, either in the truck or out physically picking things up. If I didn’t have my Oakleys, I don’t know what I would do, because the pair I have fits perfect and completely blocks out the sun so I can function 100% at all times.
